Management Foundations

course rationale

Successfully completing requirements for the award of the Australian Nationally Accredited Business courses in Management is almost universally recognised as a requirement for anyone involved in any leadership role in any business. The Management courses are available at Certificate III, Certificate IV and Diploma levels. Further information on these courses is available on this web site by clicking on the Management link.

Both of the Directors of Professional Performance Australia have  Diploma of Business qualifications.

Any training provider for Management courses should be able to contextualise the course to suit the course participant’s industry. Traditionally the training and assessment process for the course will take each unit in turn, and the course participant will need to provide evidence that they are competent in all of the Performance Criteria, for all of the Elements of each Unit of the course.

Some of the terms mentioned above may be unfamiliar to some readers. Clicking on any of the links will take you to the page on Competence Based Courses on this web site where these terms are explained.

The actual units which are a part of the Diploma of Management are all listed on the Management page of this web site.

In designing the “Management Foundations” course, the Directors of Professional Performance Australia have used the philosophy of our Outcomes Focused Leadership and applied this to what our research and experience has shown to be the most desirable content for a course for educational leaders called, “Management Foundations”. Then through the use of the matrices we developed and mapped the learning outcomes and competencies in our course across the many Performance Criteria involved in the Nationally Accredited Course, Diploma of Management. The final result being that participants successfully completing all the assessment for “Management Foundations”, should be entitled to gain the award Diploma of Management* without any extra projects being completed.

(*Ian McKenzie is the course facilitator for “Management Foundations”. Ian has had extensive experience training and assessing participants in the various courses in Management in private training organisations in addition to an Institute of TAFE. Professional Performance Australia is not a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). Instead we work in collaboration with RTO’s who have the accredited courses with which we are involved as a part of their scope of registration to actually issue the award. An internal quality control auditor from the RTO in question may on occasion request some additional evidence and/or information from our course participants before issuing the award in question.)
